IPL bigger than country: South African players to India

Johannesburg: South African pacers Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Engidi will play in the IPL 2022 season. The players have been ruled out of the Test series against Bangladesh. Earlier, South African Test team captain Dean Elgar had suggested that players should make a quick decision on whether to play for the country or play in the IPL.

South Africa will play three ODIs and two Tests against Bangladesh. The series starts on March 18. The ODI series will be played on the 18th, 20th and 23rd. The Test series runs from March 31 to April 12. Eleven South African players are set to play in the IPL. Of these, six are regulars on the Test team and three are regulars on the ODIs.

In addition to Rabada and Ngidi, Andric Norcia, Marco Johnson, batsmen Aiden Markram, Racine Vander Dawson, all-rounders Dwayne Pretorius and David Miller are all key players in the various teams in the IPL.
