In this situation, former player of the Indian team Gautam Gambhir has expressed his views about Dasun Chanaka.

Gambhir said that if the tournament had taken place before the IPL auctions, the IPL teams would not have had the money to buy Dasun Chanakava and he would have bid for a huge amount.
He added that before the IPL auctions started, the demand for players was high, with Sam Curran, Cameron Green and Ben Stokes being bought for huge sums, though surprisingly no team had bought Chanakkava.
