IPU Assembly: Moroccan delegation meets with President of the Transitional National Assembly of the Republic of Gabon

The Gabonese official presented, on this occasion, a detailed report on the political situation in his country, ensuring that the transitional authorities are deploying all means to guarantee a rapid return to constitutional order, through the establishment of all transitional institutions, indicates a press release from the House of Representatives.

After the formation of the transitional government and the transitional Constitutional Court, the National Assembly and the Senate, bringing together the vital forces of the nation, were formed, Mr. Ndongou said, noting that the transitional Prime Minister asked all citizens to make written contributions in preparation for the holding of a comprehensive national congress as soon as possible.

For his part, the First Vice-President of the House of Representatives, Mohammed Sabbari, who led the Moroccan delegation to the 147th IPU General Assembly, welcomed the excellent historical relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Gabon, stressing Morocco’s constant position regarding the respect of the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of countries.

He also praised the wisdom of Gabon’s vital forces in managing the transition phase, assuring that the Kingdom is confident that this friendly country will emerge from this temporary situation as soon as possible.

Mr. Sabbari, in this regard, stressed the importance of further strengthening the relations of cooperation and friendship in all sectors between the two legislative institutions, both at the bilateral level through the activation of the parliamentary friendship group and the exchange of visits, and at the level of multilateral relations, by continuing mutual support and unifying positions in international parliamentary forums such as the IPU.

This meeting took place in the presence of deputies Mustapha Reddad, member of the National Rally of Independents group, and Omar Hejira, member of the Istiqlalian group for unity and egalitarianism.

The Gabonese side took part in this meeting: Faustin Boukoubi, former president of the National Assembly of Gabon, Admiral Gabriel Mali, second vice-president of the Transitional National Assembly, MP Aurélien Ntoutoume Mebiame and the Gabonese ambassador to Angola, Guy Nambo Wezet.
