Md. The government has decided to make Iqbal Hossain Khan the new High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Pakistan. He will replace the current High Commissioner Ruhul Alam Siddiqui.

This information was informed in a press release sent from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday (July 16).

Iqbal Hossain, a 20th batch professional diplomat of Foreign Affairs cadre, is currently serving as Director General (Operations) at the Foreign Service Academy. Prior to this, he served as the Director General of the West Asia Division.

A professional diplomat, he has held various posts in the Bangladesh Mission in Jeddah, London, Moscow and Abu Dhabi. He was the Consul General of Bangladesh in Dubai.

Iqbal Hussain holds a Masters in International Relations from People’s Friendship University of Russia (PFUR) and an Honors degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the then Bangladesh Institute of Technology (now Khulna University of Engineering and Technology).

Recently he completed NDC course from Bangladesh National Defense College Mirpur.
