/ Iran national team coach Amir Qalaa said on Wednesday that he is responsible for the loss against Qatar in the Asian Cup semi-final match.

“Unfortunately, Qatar’s third goal came from one shot, and the match turned in Qatar’s favour,” Qalaa said during the post-match press conference. “I cannot blame my players for a technical error because we were unlucky.”

The Iranian coach apologized to the Iranian fans, stressing that we should have made them happy today, with gratitude to the players of my team who played a very wonderful match.

The Iranian national team coach confirmed that he “only bears responsibility,” noting that this night was one of the worst nights in his life.

He said, “We should have scored 4 to 5 goals, but we did not succeed in scoring. This is the case in football. We have seen big teams bid farewell in the knockout stages, such as Saudi Arabia, Japan, and South Korea.”
