Iran Human Rights, an organization based in Norway, says that a young man named Iman Sabzikar, who was found guilty of the murder of a police officer last February, was publicly hanged on Saturday morning. In the southern city of Shiraz, Iman’s execution was carried out at the same place where the policeman was killed.

Activists say executions in Iran are carried out in prisons, but executions in cases involving security personnel are carried out in public. The Iran Human Rights Organization claims that the last public execution in Iran was on June 11, 2020.

The organization also added that it is believed that the four persons may receive the same punishment in different cases related to the killing of police officers.
