Russia’s invasion of Ukraine continues today for the 18th day. The Ukrainian government expected NATO forces to step up in support of them in the war with Russia. Knowing that this would lead to World War III, Western nations stopped funding Ukraine. Russia, on the other hand, continues to impose unprecedented sanctions.
Russia has already warned that if it supplies arms to Ukraine, those countries will be considered directly involved in the war and retaliate. However, US President Joe Biden has recently announced that he will provide financial assistance to Ukraine as well as arms assistance. This increased the risk of the Ukraine-Russia conflict escalating into a US-Russia conflict. Adding to these speculations, Iran has launched a surprise missile attack on the US embassy in Iraq. Iraqi security officials say 12 missiles have been fired at the U.S. embassy in the northern Iraqi city of Irbil. The United States has also accused Iran of inciting these attacks.

U.S. officials said the embassy where the attack took place was newly built and casualties had been averted as the office had not yet been brought into use. The Iraqi government is investigating. The U.S. embassy said the attack was an act of violence against Iraqi sovereignty.

The consensus of all peace-loving people is that the problem between Russia and Ukraine should be resolved through negotiations as soon as possible, as it would be a catalyst for a third world war.
