Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi, who met our Foreign Minister Jaishankar in New Delhi, insisted that ‘India should help to end the Israel-Hamas war’. The war is going on between the West Asian country of Israel and the Hamas terrorist organization that controls the Gaza Strip, where most of the Palestinians live.

In this, another West Asian country, Iran, has given support to the Hamas terrorist organization.

In this case, the Houthi terrorists in Yemen, supported by Iran, are targeting cargo ships bound for Israel in the Red Sea region.

Ships of many countries, including the United States, were damaged in this. In this situation, our External Affairs Minister Jaishankar has traveled to Iran. He met and talked with Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi and others.

During these meetings, the fulfillment of previous agreements including trade between the two countries were discussed. In particular, the port development project in Chabahar, Iran was discussed.

Regarding these meetings, Jaishankar said:

The situation in the Red Sea region is heterogeneous. First there was the problem of pirates. Currently, the missile attack is being conducted. This is an important and serious issue.

Cargo vessels plying that route are diverted. Due to this, the prices of things like fuel have gone up drastically. Due to this, India has also been affected.

This is what he said.

In this case, President Ibrahim Raisi said in a news release yesterday:

We realize that India-Iran relationship is important.

Stop Israeli attacks on Gaza and provide humanitarian aid to Palestinians.

There should be peace and security in the region. India should play an important role in intervening in this matter and finding a suitable solution.

This is what he said.
