Tehran: Iran’s Foreign Affairs Spokesman Nasser Kanani said that Iranophobia is being spread to cover up the illegal and human rights violations being carried out by the United States and other European allies against the Iranian people. Kanani’s response was through Twitter.
Kanani also alleged that countries including Europe and Israel are exaggerating the problems of other countries to hide their internal conflicts. Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei accused foreign countries of spreading Iranophobia against Iran in a meeting held yesterday. Khamenei also said that such accusations are being made against Iran by foreign powers because of its support for Palestine. The reference was made in a meeting attended by high officials and ambassadors from various countries.
Following the anti-hijab protests, the Iranian government is on the defensive. The President’s official address on the anniversary of the Islamic revolution was hacked. Instead, a video of a masked man shouting the slogan “Death to the Islamic Republic” appeared.
