Iran’s UN mission said the Hezbollah terrorist group would respond to the Israeli attack in Beirut with “a massive and deep rocket barrage targeting both military and civilian targets.”

This was reported by the news agency CBS News.

According to the spokesman for the Iranian mission in New York, “so far, Hezbollah and the regime (Israel – ed.) have acted according to an unwritten agreement, mainly against military targets and in border areas.”

“But the regime, with its attack in Dahya and the strike on a residential building, has crossed these boundaries. Therefore, Hezbollah will expand the area of attacks and will not limit itself to military targets,” he said.

As is known, there is an opinion in Lebanon that as a result of the missile strike on the Dahya district in the south of Beirut, not only the head of the military wing of Hezbollah, Fuad Shukr, was killed, but also five civilians.

At the same time, the Iranian representative kept silent about the death of 12 children and teenagers in the Druze village of Majel Shams, which became the pretext for the IDF’s retaliatory strike on Beirut. Hezbollah denies any involvement in the deaths of Druze children.

Earlier, Cursor reported that Israeli journalist Nahum Barnea suggested that Iran could choose the Israeli state aircraft “Wing of Zion” as a symbolic target for an attack. He noted that such a strike could be perceived as revenge against Jerusalem for the liquidation of Hamas Politburo chief Ismail Haniyeh in the Iranian capital Tehran.
