/ The Iraqi Basketball Federation announced, on Sunday, the date of the Premier League’s suspension, which will be on February 23.

The second deputy of the Federation, Khaled Najm, told Agency, “The Premier Basketball League will be suspended due to the national team’s involvement in the Asian qualifiers, scheduled to start on the 23rd of next month, with a home and away system.”

He added, “The Iraqi national team will face its Saudi counterpart at the beginning of its journey on the 23rd of next month in the closed People’s Hall for Sports in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.”

He pointed out that “the national team’s second match against the Palestinian national team will also be held on February 26 in the Jordanian capital, Amman, which is the supposed home ground for the Palestinian national team,” indicating that “the qualifiers are considered to qualify for the Asian finals qualifying for the World Cup.”
