Iraq Football Tennis Participates in Gulf Championship

/ The Iraqi Football Tennis Federation announced on Monday that Iraq will participate in the Gulf Championship, which will be hosted by the UAE, while setting the date for the start of the league competitions for the game.

The head of the federation, Safaa Sahib, told Agency that the Iraqi national team will participate in the Gulf Netball Championship, which will be hosted by the United Arab Emirates on the 8th of March.

He pointed out that the Iraqi league competitions for the game will start on February 16, and the tournament will be based on a gathering system for the participating teams, indicating that the league will be an opportunity for the national team’s technical staff to discover new players to represent Iraq in upcoming external events.

The Iraqi under-21 football tennis team won second place in the doubles event, third in the triples event, and fifth in the singles event, in the World Championship competitions that took place in the Czech city of Brno in November 2023.
