“Iraq Handball” achieves a friendly victory over Qatari Al Rayyan

/ The Iraqi handball team managed to win over its host, the Qatari Al-Rayyan team, by a difference of five goals, with a score of 29-24 goals.

The head of the Iraqi Handball Federation, Ahmed Riyadh, told Agency: “The match was held within the training camp currently being held for our national team in the Qatari capital, Doha.”

The Federation President added that “our national team’s training camp in Qatar will continue until the 7th of this month,” explaining that “it is the final stage before entering the Asian competitions.”

He said, “The team will leave after its current camp, heading to the Kingdom of Bahrain to participate in the Asian Championship, which is a qualifier for the World Cup.”

He pointed out that “the national team also participated in its camp in the Qatar International Championship, and the players benefited greatly despite losing to Algeria 35-39 goals, and to the Qatari national team 29-34 goals.”

The draw placed the Iraqi national team in Group Three, alongside the Japanese, Indian and Saudi national teams.
