Iraq national team loses to South Korea by one goal in a friendly match

/ The Iraqi national team lost to its Korean counterpart with a score of 1-0, in the last friendly match for the Iraqi national team before entering the Asian Championship competitions scheduled to start in Qatar on the 12th of this month.

The match took place at 4:00 pm Baghdad time, at New York University Stadium in Saadiyat, in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi.

The first half ended with South Korea leading the Iraqi team by one goal to none. Korea’s goal came through Lee Jae-Sung in the 40th minute.

In the second half, the score remained the same, with the Korean team completely controlling the match in both halves as it wanted.

The Iraqi national team will leave the Emirates for Doha on the 11th of this month to participate in the 2024 Asian Cup.

It is noteworthy that our national team plays in Group Four, alongside the teams of Indonesia, Japan and Vietnam.
