Iraq participates in the UAE International Swimming Championship and the Arab Water Polo Competition

The Iraqi Central Swimming Federation received two official invitations to participate in the UAE International Swimming Championship, which will be held in mid-November, and the Arab Water Polo Competition, which will be hosted by Kuwait in early December.

The Vice President of the Swimming Federation, Hashem Mohammed, said in a statement to the newspaper (Al-Sabah), followed by the (INA), today, Wednesday: “After receiving a notification to our federation to participate in these two championships, a meeting will be held with the technical committee in order to develop a preparation program that is appropriate for the period of time separating us from the date of their holding, noting that the list of teams representing us will be chosen in light of the local program for the second half of this year.”
Mohammed added, “It is scheduled to hold the Iraqi Clubs Championship for long distances, hosted by Lake Dokan in the city of Sulaymaniyah, with wide participation from Baghdad and governorate clubs, as they were informed of the date of its holding at the beginning of next October, while the Al-Shaab International Pool will host the Buds Festival during next October, indicating that all clubs are ready for these competitions.”
Regarding development programs, Mohammed explained: “An agreement was reached with the American ASKA Academy, which specializes in swimming, to hold development courses in Iraq at the end of this year, the purpose of which is to develop the technical capabilities of the trainers, and communications are ongoing with them in order to allocate a specific program that is expected to include theoretical and practical lectures for five days.”
