/ The Iraqi Boxing Federation announced, on Friday, the nomination of one boxer to participate in the Asian Championship qualifying for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Federation President Ali Taqleef told Agency, “Boxer Ali Qasim Hamdan, with a weight of 63 kg, will represent the Iraqi Olympic team under the age of 23 in the Asian Championship, which will be held in Kazakhstan on April 22nd, and the qualifying rounds in Thailand on May 22nd. “.

He pointed out that “Iraq will participate with two teams: the youth teams under the age of 20, and the Olympic teams under the age of 23,” noting that “the two Iraqi teams are currently in a training camp in the capital, Baghdad, in preparation for the Asian Championship.”
