/ Al-Quwa Club defeated its host Najaf with an unanswered goal at the end of the twelfth round of the Iraqi Stars Football League.

The match took place at Najaf International Stadium at eight o’clock in the evening on Sunday.

The first half ended with the Air Force leading with an unanswered goal, which came from a penalty kick successfully executed by Ayman Hussein in the 45+10 minute.

In the second half, the result did not change, as Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya returned to Baghdad carrying three valuable points, which strengthened its lead with 30 points.

The match was halted in the 71st minute after Najaf fans threw smoke at Al-Jawiya players, wounding Al-Jawiya goalkeeper Muhammad Hamid and defender Sameh Saeed. The match supervisor decided to remove the crowd from behind Al-Jawiya’s goal so that play could resume at the 76th minute.

The first half ended in a 1-1 draw. Al-Zawraa scored first through professional Collins Obari in the tenth minute, and Al-Tadil’s goal for Al-Naft came through Samson Dari in the 37th minute.

The score did not change in the second half until the referee blew his whistle announcing the end of the match.
