Iraq wins first place in the Arab world in “Jiu-Jitsu and Kurash”

/ The Iraqi Jiu-Jitsu and Kurash team won first place in the 9th Arab Jiu-Jitsu, Sambo and Kurash Championship, which was held in Lebanon from the 15th to the 20th of this month. The teams will hold joint training camps from the 18th to the 20th, which will be considered part of the championship.

Mukhlis Hassan, head of the Iraqi Federation, said in a phone call with Agency, “Iraq achieved first place in the Jiu-Jitsu team, and the Jiu-Jitsu results were as follows: First place in Kata doubles / Muhannad Hassan and Mahmoud Yassin, Mohammed Najah, 60 kg gold, Waddah Jassim silver, 66 kg Hussein Qasim silver, 73 kg Hussein Raad bronze, 81 kg Anwar Al-Khatib bronze, 90 kg Sajjad Falah bronze, and Mohammed Al-Jawad Kazim bronze, 100 kg Mujtaba Ahmed silver, over 100 kg Ali Abdul Wahab gold.”

Hassan added, “Iraq also achieved first place in Sambo, and the results were: 58 kg Mohammed Najah gold and Waddah Jassim silver, 64 kg Hussein Qassim gold, 71 kg Hussein Raad bronze, 79 kg Hassan Nouri bronze and Wissam Al-Ami bronze, 88 kg Sajjad Falah bronze, 98 kg Mujtaba Ahmed gold.”

He added, “In the combat event, he came in second after Mujtaba Ahmed won the gold medal in the heavyweight category, and Ali Abdel Wahab won the silver medal.”
