Today, Saturday, Iraqi player Najla Imad won the gold medal in the table tennis competitions within the Paralympic Games taking place in Paris.

The Iraqi Paralympic Committee said in a statement received by the (INA): “The champion Najlaa Imad won the gold medal after defeating the Ukrainian player Marina by three sets to one in the table tennis competitions within the Paralympic Games taking place in Paris.”
For his part, Minister of Youth and Sports Ahmed Al-Mubarqa congratulated Iraqi player Najla Imad for winning the gold medal in the table tennis competitions at the Paralympic Games.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports said in a statement received by the (INA): “The Minister of Youth and Sports, Ahmed Al-Mubarqa, congratulated the victory and the wonderful achievement of our world champion, Najla Imad, after she won the gold medal in the table tennis event within the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.”
She added, “Al-Mubarqa’ considered this unprecedented achievement the fruit of the diligent and great work of the player and the coaching staff, as well as the Iraqi Paralympic Committee, appreciating the joint teamwork that led to this great harvest.”
It is noteworthy that Najla Imad is the first Iraqi female player to win a Paralympic medal since the founding of the Paralympics.
