Our national athletics team won three silver medals in the Arab Under-23 Championship for both genders, which is currently taking place in the city of Ismailia in the Arab Republic of Egypt.

The winning medals were won by player Mohamed Najah in the 110m hurdles race with a time of 14.9 seconds after the Egyptian who won the gold medal with a time of 13.80 seconds, and the second medal was won by player Mohamed Adel in throwing the weight with a distance of 16.56m, while player Abdul Rahman Omar won the third silver medal for the team in the high jump event with a height of 2.10m.

The Executive Director of the Iraqi Central Athletics Federation, Zaidoun Al-Khafaji, said in a statement received by the (INA): “The positive results achieved by the Iraqi national team players in the Arab competitions have a great impact on the sons of the game, noting that the champion players presented more than wonderful levels, and deserved that with merit, including the silver medals, despite the fierce competition between the players of the teams participating in the tournament.”
