/ The Iraqi Basketball Federation announced today, Tuesday, the start of the first training sessions for the national team the day after tomorrow, Thursday, in the People’s Hall for Sports Games.
The second deputy of the Iraqi Basketball Federation, Khaled Najm, said in an interview with Shafak News Agency, “The Federation revealed the list of the national team in preparation for the first window of the joint qualifiers for the Asian Nations and the World Cup.”
The list consisted of: Ali Mu’ayyad Ismail, Hassan Ali Abdullah, Mohammed Salah Mahdi, Hussein Hadi Talib, Karrar Jassim Hamza, Abbas Hadi Abdul Razzaq, Ali Hatem, Mohammed Faleh Mahdi, Diyar Ahmed Abdul-Ilah, Ali Abdullah Ahmed, Nouris Darar Dhafer, Abdullah Haidar Abs, Abdullah Majeed Abdullah, Mohammed Abdul Khaliq Abdul Qader, Ihab Hassan Obaidi, Fareed Raadi, Mohammed Mohsen Ismail, Murad Ali Murad, and DeMario Mayfield, an American player (naturalized Iraqi).
On the other hand, Najm confirmed that “international referee Ahmed Al-Shuwaili will represent Iraq in the Dubai International Basketball Championship, which includes a group of strong teams and national teams,” indicating that this championship is one of the strongest championships in the region.
