/ Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya Club defeated its host, Al-Najaf, by one goal to none, at the conclusion of the twelfth round of the Iraqi Premier League.
The match took place at Al-Najaf International Stadium at eight o’clock this evening, Sunday.
The first half ended with Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya leading by one goal to none, from a penalty kick successfully executed by Ayman Hussein in the 45+10 minute.
In the second half, the result did not change, and Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya returned to Baghdad carrying three valuable points, strengthening its lead with 30 points.
The match was stopped in the 71st minute after Najaf fans threw smoke bombs at Al-Jawiya players, injuring Al-Jawiya goalkeeper Mohammed Hamid and defender Sameh Saeed. The match supervisor decided to remove the fans from behind Al-Jawiya’s goal, and play resumed in the 76th minute.
Al-Zawraa Club also tied with its guest, Al-Naft, with a score of 1-1, in the same competition.
The first half ended in a 1-1 draw. Al-Zawraa scored first through professional Collins Obari in the tenth minute, and the equalizing goal for Al-Naft came through Samson Dare in the 37th minute.
The result did not change in the second half until the referee blew his whistle to announce the end of the match.
The match took place at the same time at Al-Zawraa Stadium.
