/ The Iraqi national team tied with its Japanese counterpart, today, Saturday, with a score of 28-28 goals in the Asian Handball Championship.

The Iraqi handball team achieved a great victory in its first confrontation in the tournament over its Indian counterpart, with a crushing score of 55-12 goals, at the beginning of its journey in the ongoing Asian Championship in Bahrain.

On the 6th of last month, the Iraqi national handball team held a training camp in Bahrain that lasted until the 10th of this month in preparation for the 21st Asian Championship qualifying competitions for the 2025 World Cup.

Before heading to Bahrain, the Iraqi handball team participated in the Qatar International Championship in preparation for the Asian Championship. It lost its two matches against Qatar and Algeria and won in a third match against the Qatari Al-Rayyan Club.
