Iraq’s handball draws with South Korea in Asian Championship

/ The Iraqi national team tied with its Korean counterpart with a score of 22-22 goals in the 21st Asian Handball Championship currently taking place in Bahrain 2024.

The head of the federation, Ahmed Riyadh, told that the Iraqi national team managed to tie amidst a distinguished performance by our players after they presented an honorable level that reflected the development of the game in Iraq.

He pointed out that the result was close until the last moment and the struggle was strong between our team and the advanced Korean team. The rivalry and confrontation were strong for our players and ended in a draw between the two teams, although our team was ahead many times over its Korean counterpart and almost failed to win if it weren’t for the goals that entered our goal from strong Korean players.

The Iraqi national team qualified for the next stage of the Asian Championship held in Bahrain during the period from January 11 to 25, after tying with the Saudi national team with a score of (31-31).
