/ The Iraqi handball team lost to its Emirati counterpart on Monday, with a score of 23-28 goals, in the match to determine the positions in the 21st Asian Handball Championship, currently taking place in Bahrain.

Hussam Abdul Redha, a member of the Handball Federation’s media office, told Shafak News Agency, “The national team lost today to its Emirati counterpart by five points in the match to determine seventh and eighth place.”

Abdul Redha added, “Today’s loss put the Iraqi team in eighth place in Asia, while the UAE team came in seventh place.

He pointed out that Iraq lost the opportunity to qualify for the World Cup after losing yesterday to the Kuwaiti team with a score of 20-32 goals in the Asian Handball Championship.
