The famous British metal band Iron Maiden will perform on May 31, 2025 at the airport in Prague’s Letňany. As part of the just-announced Run For Your Lives tour, they will be celebrating 50 years since their inception.

The band was founded in late 1975 by bassist Steve Harris. People will have the opportunity to hear selected songs from nine studio albums, from the one called Iron Maiden to Fear of the Dark from 1992. Pre-sale tickets starting at 2,100 crowns will start next Friday, September 27 in the morning, the organizing agency Live Nation announced.

“Next year is a very special one for Iron Maiden and we will prepare a concert experience for our fans, the likes of which have never been seen before,” promises singer Bruce Dickinson. “This tour will put a smile on your face and a cheer in your throat. If you’ve ever seen us before, get ready to take the experience to a whole new level,” he says.

According to line-up manager Rod Smallwood, the band will play songs many of which they haven’t played in years and many of which they probably won’t play again in the future.

Iron Maiden, named the Iron Maiden after a medieval torture instrument, stood at the end of the 1970s with a new wave of British heavy metal music. They first recorded the album The Number of the Beast with singer Dickinson in 1982. In 1993, the frontman left the group for several years and devoted himself to his own work, but returned in the late 90s.

The band, which has sold almost 90 million albums and performed over 2,000 shows, has been coming to the Czech Republic since 1993. The last time it performed was last year in a packed O2 arena in Prague, where its noisy production was applauded by almost 15,000 listeners. Many arrived wearing t-shirts featuring Eddie the mascot, who also appeared on stage during the evening. “Iron Maiden are one of the few bands that can turn the otherwise impersonal spaces of halls and stadiums into community gatherings,” Aktuálně.cz wrote about the concert.
