The IDF Forces Continue Ground Maneuver in Gaza Strip, Capture Dozens of Hamas Terrorists
The ground maneuver of the IDF forces in the Gaza Strip continues, with the main battles being centered around Jabalia in the north of the Gaza Strip and Jaaia in the east of Gaza City. However, today (Thursday) there have been some significant developments as relatively rare photos of dozens of captives from Hamas terrorists, arrested by IDF fighters in the heart of Gaza City, have emerged.
According to documents, the captives, who were arrested near the central “Palestine” square, were put on trucks that made their way back to Israel. These captives will be interrogated by the Shin Bet, with the aim of extracting from them intelligence assets that will help the continuation of the fighting in the Strip.
In the huge neighborhood of Shejaiya, there are the last remaining Hamas forces that are still operating in an orderly manner, after the IDF gained operational control over most of the areas north of the Gaza Wadi. Since the collapse of the cease-fire, heavy and intense battles have been taking place there, with it being estimated that the Hamas terrorists who are there are waging a battle of sacrifice until the end. It is possible that the difficult battle for Sajeya will become one of the symbols of the current war, on the way to reducing Hamas’ capabilities.
The IDF forces are advancing in a measured but consistent manner, and are operating in the heart of the built-up area and not on its outskirts. Sajeyya is considered a difficult stronghold of Hamas, and even in previous rounds of combat such as Tzuk Eitan and Cast Lead, fierce battles were fought there.
