jpnn.comPARIS – Italian fighter Angelina Carini couldn’t hold back her tears after a beating against Algerian boxer Imane Khelif in the 66 kg category of the Paris 2024 Olympic boxing division.

Angelina lasted just 45 seconds in the ring. The Italian female boxer decided to retire after taking a hard blow to the nose.

Khelif’s quick victory sparked controversy.

Many people have accused the 25-year-old boxer of being transgender because his appearance looks much more powerful than a woman’s.

Moreover, Khelif was banned from appearing in the 2023 World Championship final under the auspices of the International Boxing Association (IBA).

At that time, the IBA banned Khelif from entering the ring because he had the XY chromosome or DNA molecule that is usually found in men.

However, at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Khelif was declared eligible to compete through the International Olympic Committee (IOC) decision to revoke IBA’s recognition last year due to governance and financial issues.

The IOC said the IBA’s decision to disqualify Khelif from the 2023 World Boxing Championships was arbitrary.

Algerian boxer Imane Khelif’s victory over Italian fighter Angelina Carini at the 2024 Paris Olympics has sparked debate.
