However, if Galant is forced to apologize, he will do so while the prime minister is abroad and not for the substance of his remarks. Meanwhile, former defense minister and Knesset member Benny Gantz has called on the prime minister to announce that Galant will remain in his position with no conditions, as any other appointment would “harm security and give a gift to our enemies.”
