Is ‘Bagasuran’ pulling back? movie review! | Dinamani

by time news

‘Bahasuran’ has been released under the direction of director Mohan G after films like Old Vannarappet, Thirelapathi, Rudratandavam.

In this, director Selvaraghavan played the lead role and cinematographer Natty played the main role. Sam CS has composed the music for this film. Radharavi, Producer Rajan, Kool Suresh, Tarakshi and many others have acted.

After the mysterious suicide of his nephew, Natty, an ex-major-turned-actor, searches for the reason. On the other hand, director Selvaraghavan, who plays Bhimarasu, takes revenge on those responsible for the death of his daughter who committed suicide due to sexual violence. The film ‘Bahasuran’ is the meeting point of both.

Selvaraghavan is back as an actor after Sanikaitham and Beast. Selvaragavan, a street artist from Cuddalore, has a crush on his daughter. He makes him study in Perambalur College for his choice. The story revolves around the sexual violence that happens to him there. Selvaraghavan has acted well in many places. He attracts as a good actor in places where he comes as a devotee of Shiva.

Along with him, Natty appears in the film. Her nephew is publishing nude videos on the internet at the insistence of her boyfriend. After that, he gets involved in sex work. At one point, a gang of sex workers blackmails the woman to arrange a marriage at home. He commits suicide due to depression. This comes to his stepfather Natty. Knowing that many girls are trapped like this, he wanders in search of a similarly afflicted father to rescue them. In this way Selvaraghavan’s journey and Natty’s journey are the entire screenplay.

Sam CS has composed the music for the film. Very helpful. The background score for Selvaragavan is enjoyable. Apart from the opening song of the movie, nothing else is enjoyable. Necessary cinematography. Technically, Mohan G has done better than his previous films.

What is there in the film beyond all these?

‘Bahasuran’ has evolved from a thought of 50 years ago. After centuries, women are only now coming out of their ovens and starting to learn. ‘Bahasuran’ has come as a story written by someone who watched this with anxiety.

The director who says that he wants to protect women, puts obscene dance in the film and it is obvious contradiction.

Selvaragavan’s daughter wants to go abroad for further studies after becoming the first generation graduate. There is a verse that people living in Chennai have become living abroad. Such verses like “We should make it read in the town”, “We should monitor what is going on in our back room” continue throughout the film. It seems that Selvaragavan, who was so wealthy, has been stopped like this.

The film’s logic falters at many places. Nutty, who turns out to be a retired major, runs around looking for evidence. Selvaraghavan has been carrying out successive murders. What does the police do in between?

The first half of the film is quite watchable even though the dialogues are somewhat backward. But the second half is just the opposite. If the aim is to prevent women from engaging in sex work on the Internet, the real reason can be investigated. But the director has placed love and women rights claimants in the criminal cage as if they were supporting the sex industry. ‘Bahasuran’ stumbles as a result of not focusing on the screenplay and dragging his personal political opponents into the story.

Radharavi appears in a scene at the beginning of the film. He talks about women’s rights. I’ll leave it up to you to guess how he would have been portrayed later.

‘Bahasuran’ portrays even small things like bringing a male friend home and using cell phones as dangerous.

There is a song in the movie that shows father daughter affection. In which Selvaraghavan’s daughter will squeeze his leg. If it had been like that, the director would not have had any problem.

Instead of punishing those who take obscene pictures and threaten women as criminals, everything will be fine if women are orderly, women are honourable, ‘Bahasuran’ has asked women to shoulder the burdens of honour, morals, etc.

Speaking at the end of the film, Selvaraghavan talks about cell phones and scientific discoveries as dangerous. After that, Natty tells us to keep an eye on our children.

Let the women come out. Let the education learn. Don’t wait by hollowing out their tracks and making their bodies look more dangerous.
