To give you an idea, in 2021, Brazil had 847,300 records of stolen or stolen cell phones, which represents more than 2,300 phones taken by criminals every 24 hours, across the country, and 1.6 device subtracted per minute.

The data released are part of the Brazilian Yearbook of Public Security 2022. The number is slightly higher than that recorded in 2020, when 825.9 thousand smartphones were stolen or stolen in the country, representing an increase of 1.8% in the theft rate and telephone thefts per 100,000 inhabitants.

The highest number of cases occurred in São Paulo, with 289,461 records of this type of crime (34% of the national index). According to the report, the increase has to do with the “digitization of finance, services and commerce”, which has grown during the pandemic of the new coronavirus. Regarding the physical damage that can occur with the devices, research indicates that in Brazil, for example, almost half of the people have already had their screen cracked or shattered.

Even the costs to fix the devices are not pleasant, even more so for high-end models. To change the screen of an Iphone 13, for example, it costs an average of R$2,000. The average ticket for screen protection for this same cell phone corresponds to R$ 1,235.00. Other devices such as the Galaxy A13 and Moto G22 have an average screen protection value of BRL 280.30 and BRL 291.21, respectively.

For these and other reasons, the market today has cell phone protection insurance options. There are several plans and coverages that allow the insured person to customize the service according to his profile and pocket, without extra expenses. Like life or car insurance, cell phone insurance is a policy that specializes in covering the cost of replacing or repairing a smartphone.

The tip here is to research, compare prices and benefits, read the details in the policies and, of course, bet on a reliable company. Smartphone insurance does not let the owner deal with the unforeseen (and loss) alone.

With the advancement of banking applications and the number of valuable data available on smartphones, the time when the concern of those who had a stolen or stolen cell phone was only that of material damage is gone. That’s why, by resorting to a protection that meets your needs, psychological and financial well-being thank you!
