We are seeing the leading stars of Indian cinema already starring in the movie ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ directed by Pramanta director Mani Ratnam. In that sense, the news that Shalini Ajith is currently playing a major character in the film has come as a big surprise to Ajith fans.
The novel ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ written by Amar Kalki is being shot in two parts. Directed by Mani Ratnam and produced by Leica, the film is said to have a budget of over Rs 500 crore.
The film stars Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai, Trisha, Jayaram, Aishwarya Lakshmi, Vikram Prabhu, Prabhu, Sarathkumar, Parthiban, Prakashraj, Raghuman, Shadows Ravi, Lal, Vijayakumar, Nasser among many others.
A news item has been going viral on social media since yesterday that Shalini Ajith has been cast in a lead role in the film which has a huge star cast and her character has been kept secret till now.
However, Ajith’s manager explained that the information released that Shalini Ajith will be starring in ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ is not true and that this is completely false information and that Shalini Ajith has not acted in any film including ‘Ponniyin Selvan’. Following this, it has been confirmed that Shalini Ajith has acted in the movie ‘Ponniyin Selvan’.
Shalini Ajith starred in the Mani Ratnam directed 2000 film ‘Alaipayuthey’ which was a huge success.
