Sleep is essential for the well-being of the body and mind. For years we have been wondering what is the best way to go to bed and wake up completely rested in the morning. For some it means not having to wear anything under the covers but sleeping naked is good for you? According to several international studies, it seems that this is indeed the case.
Is sleeping naked good for you?
An English study commissioned by thedozyowl.co.uk investigated whether sleeping naked is good for you and it seems that the answer is absolutely yes. The research examined 2,698 volunteers who went to bed in different clothing. To assess the quality of sleep, the time spent in the REM phase, that is, the time in which one dreams, was examined. On average, naked sleepers spend 26.5% of their sleep in REM sleep. The percentage drops to 26% for those wearing shorts and short-sleeved T-shirts and to 25.5% in underwear or boxers. The mix of long-sleeved shirt and underwear is associated with a percentage of 25%.
Pajamas are not the right clothing to sleep well. The short-sleeved nightgown (23.5%) is better than the long-sleeved one (20%) while the long pants are bottom in the rankings (17.5%). Sleeping naked is good for you even in winter? The research results seem to be valid in every season. When the cold arrives it is therefore better not to wear anything but cover yourself with blankets and duvets.
Sleeping naked is good for you to the body in many ways:

- When it’s too cold (less than 20 degrees)

- Women with irregular periods
- Breastfeeding women
- People suffering from sleepwalking
