Among so many stories of overcoming through the seventh art, Surfer Soul – Courage to Live it is a feature film that presents an engaging story through a dramatic plot surrounded by beautiful (and dangerous) paradoxical landscapes.
The plot follows Bethany Hamilton (AnnaSophia Robb), an award-winning surfer who was practically born on the beach. When she is attacked by a shark, she loses her left arm, but she has the support of her parents (Dennis Quaid e Helen Hunt), from Sarah’s best friend (Carrie Underwood) and fans to fall back into the water.

Soul Surfer – Courage to Live is inspired by a true story. The story is based on Bethany Hamilton’s journey after being attacked by a tiger shark, an accident that was responsible for the loss of her left arm. The real Bethany even appears in some moments in the film.
The surfer was responsible for his character’s stunt work, and footage was taken on the beach where the accident happened. Bethany even participated in the editing process to help recreate the attack. In the studio, she even asked for the scene to be “softened” since what happened was less scary…
