According to the report on the website ‘Bahadari Haredim’, the new crisis comes precisely from the direction of ‘Agudat Israel’ – one of the parties that make up Torah Judaism. According to the report, at least two members of the Knesset stated this week that if the Likud does not meet their coalition demands, emphasizing the conscription law, they will vote against the formation of the government.

The members of the Knesset clarified that this is a significant threat since this is not their decision but an instruction of some of the members of the Hasidic Council of Elders according to which one should not enter the government without first determining the wording of the conscription law that would not include conscription targets or sanctions against Torah scholars.

Agudath Israel has 4 members of the Knesset out of the seven members of Torah Judaism, and it is estimated that if two of them follow through with the threat and vote against the formation of the government, this will cause the remaining two members of the Knesset to do the same.
