Maldives resort tour part 1
There are 200 resorts alone… Which resort is right for me?
Excellent underwater environment… ‘Moofushi’ is perfect for freewheeling travel
Various things to do, from activities to DJ parties
There is a place that is considered synonymous with ‘paradise on earth’ due to its excellent underwater and natural environment. Maldives is located southwest of India. There are many claims about the origin of the name Maldives. What is particularly interesting is the theory that it originated from the Sanskrit word ‘maladvipa’, which means wreath-shaped island.
In reality, the Maldives has 1,192 islands forming a ring like a flower. According to these geographical characteristics, most resorts are in the ‘One Island, One Resort’ format, where one island is an entire resort.
Ultimately, a trip to the Maldives begins and ends with choosing a resort. This is because the resort you choose is an independent island, so you have to enjoy everything there. Of course, movement is not impossible. However, in this place where the concept of ‘resort = island’, going to another island is almost an unnecessary choice. That’s why it’s important to choose a resort that suits you.
There are currently about 200 registered resorts in the Maldives. Of the 1,192 islands, 200 are resorts. It is not for nothing that it is said that in order to travel to the Maldives, one must enroll in the ‘Maldives University Resort Department’. To help you graduate quickly, we would like to introduce two resorts that have a variety of gourmet food and things to do, but also have contrasting atmospheres.
Dolphins, stingrays, even sea sharks… This is a diving paradise
If you want a place that feels free-spirited yet friendly, Moofushi is the place for you. Moofushi, a 5-star all-inclusive resort operated by Constance Hotels & Resorts, is located in South Ari Atoll, which is famous for its beautiful natural environment. In particular, the underwater environment is so excellent that there are 32 world-class diving sites within 30 minutes, so much so that it is even called a diving paradise for divers.
After arriving at Male Airport (Velena International Airport), the capital of the Maldives, you can meet Moofushi by taking a seaplane from the Constance Group lounge for about 30 minutes. When you enter the resort, the first thing you see is a sign that says ‘No News, No Shoes’. It can be interpreted as ‘no news, no need for shoes’. This is the part where you can see what a free-spirited paradise this place is.
Mufushi is also a very nature-friendly place. The path from the reception to the auxiliary facilities, including four bars and restaurants, a spa shop, and a fitness center, is like a jungle. Here, you can meet a variety of animals, from familiar animals such as gray herons and pigeons to unfamiliar animals such as flying foxes and common house geckos. As you leave the jungle path, the beautiful lagoon light catches your eye, and the guest rooms on top of it create a spectacular sight.
Welcome champagne is waiting for you in the room you arrive at. You can celebrate the start of your trip with a snack of the emerald sea that can be seen from inside your room. There is no individual swimming pool. However, if you go down the stairs connected to the terrace, you can directly access the sea. Although it is in front of the room, the sea is so clean that you can see various marine life. In addition, there is an outdoor swimming pool where you can enjoy swimming while looking at the beach.
As it is a diving paradise, you can enjoy a variety of marine activities in Moofushi. Once you wear the life jacket provided in each room and enter the sea, you can meet tropical fish at any time.
Although it is a program that incurs an additional fee, it is a must to experience a sea turtle tour or a whale shark tour at least once. If you take a boat for 20 to 30 minutes, you can swim with sea turtles. Let’s go a little further out to sea. If you are lucky, you can meet a huge whale shark. There is no need to be discouraged even if you haven’t met. Manta rays and dolphins, symbols of good luck, will welcome you.
Alcohol is prohibited in the Maldives, an Islamic country. Alcohol can also be brought in when entering the airport. However, resorts that are heaven on earth are an exception. Resort operators are permitted to manufacture and sell alcoholic beverages. Therefore, in the all-inclusive Moofushi, you can drink a variety of alcohol, including cocktails, whiskey, and beer, to your heart’s content. There are so many different types of alcohol that you won’t be able to conquer it even if you drink different types of alcohol throughout your trip.
In particular, ‘Manta Restaurant’, a restaurant on the sandy beach with the theme of world travel, has over 12,000 bottles of various wines recommended by a sommelier. The all-inclusive package alone has a wine list of 125 types, and the paid list has more than 300 types of labels.
In the evening, a private wine tasting program is held on the beach. You can enjoy various types of wine and champagne recommended by a sommelier with explanations. It is a meaningful time to find a wine that suits your taste while dipping your feet in the ocean right in front of you.
When the sun sets and night falls, let’s go to ‘Manta Bar’. There is a ‘Maldives Club’ where you can dance or listen to music selected by a DJ. Here you can see a spectacular fireworks show.
In addition, in Moofushi, you can enjoy a variety of programs depending on your preference, such as Dhoni boat trip, sea fishing, and spa. Reservations and detailed inquiries about Constance Moofushi can be made through Dream Island, the representative domestic inquiry point.
