To commemorate this, a rally was organized today to demand justice for the victims of the attack on the Negombo-Kattuvapitiya church, chanting “269 have remained silent and 69 lakh have risen”.

The rally was organized by St. Sebastian’s Church, Kattuvapitiya.

Meanwhile, Colombo Archbishop Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith Andakai today said that in the wake of the activities, including the lack of a proper investigation into the terrorist attack on Sunday, there is a suspicion that the star power who has taken over all the powers in the country is a fit person.

The Archbishop said this while attending a service at St. Anthony’s Church, Kochchikade, Colombo in memory of the victims of the Sunday attack.

A 2-minute silence was observed at 8.45 am, the time of the bombing of St. Anthony’s Church in Kochi.

Later, the service was presided over by the Archbishop of Colombo, Malcolm Cardinal.

It was attended by interfaith leaders, the Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka and some diplomats, including the US Ambassador to Sri Lanka.

Colombo Archbishop Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith Andakai today reiterated that he was not satisfied with the ongoing investigations into the attack.

The archbishop said there was a massive conspiracy behind the attack that went beyond Islamic fundamentalists.

Cardinal Andakai also stressed that he rejects any attempt to unilaterally cover up a few issues.

Meanwhile, special services were held today at the Zion Church in Batticaloa to commemorate the victims of the terrorist attack on Sunday.

The special services were presided over by Roshan Mageson, Archbishop of Zion Church.
