At ABC we have had the opportunity to thoroughly test the oldest member of the family in recent days. And we have no doubt: it’s a movement. Another very different story is that it is the phone you need.

The first thing that catches your attention about the terminal when you have it in your hand is its good touch and lightness. For the construction, the apple firm has opted for titanium. Thanks to this, the device, which maintains the 6.7 inches of screen size, it drops exactly 19 grams of weight compared to the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
The thinning is noticeable, although the weight that the terminal ends up having also depends a lot on the casing with which the user chooses to protect it. Because no matter how resistant the mobile phone is thanks to its new glass back, the best thing the owner can do is to always carry it well cased and protected. Because, whatever they say, it is not indestructible and the investment that must be made to acquire it justifies that the user takes care of it as much as possible.

Unlike its predecessors, the iPhone 15, obviously also the Pro Max, sports more rounded edges. Leaving aside whether the design is more beautiful or less, depending on the colors, the grip is more comfortable. Even with the official Apple case it is noticeable.
A magic button
Not all iPhone 15s are the same. The regular model and the Plus are basically iPhone 14 Pro both inside and out. The big news is left to the Pro model and, especially, the Pro Max. And, without a doubt, the one that has drawn the most attention is the replacement of the classic ‘switch’ to activate and deactivate the silent mode with a new action button.
This is configurable with up to eight different functions. For example, you can use it as a shortcut to access the flashlight, camera or recorder. It can also continue to be used to activate or deactivate silence, depending on each person’s taste. Simply hold the button for a second and the action is completed.
The button has a lot of potential. Apple will surely continue to improve it in the future. We recognize that we would have liked to be able to configure it to perform different actions depending on the keystrokes. For example, if I press it twice the camera opens and if I press it once the silent mode is activated, something like what devices like AirPods allow. Surely, it will be possible in future Apple phones.
The novelty, as we say, is not present in all iPhone 15s. Only in the Pro and Pro Max models.
The best cameras
The 15 Pro Max’s camera is, without a doubt, the best we’ve seen on any iPhone so far. It performs perfectly, at the level of the best mobile phone you can think of, in any situation. And this, in part, is thanks to the company’s new processor, the A17 Pro; but also to some other improvement in the hardware. For example, the main sensor is already 48 MP by default. There is no need to mess around with the settings to achieve this resolution, as was the case with the 14 Pro. The rest, the ultra wide angle, the telephoto lens and the selfie camera, are still 15 MP.

Another of the great novelties of the 15 Pro Max camera, which in this case is not available in the Pro version simply, is the arrival of a telephoto lens with optical zoom of up to 5x magnification which offers quite good results and can be very useful for photography lovers.

The camera package is also reinforced by the inclusion of technologies such as Photonic Engine, which allows images in low light situations to be more realistic and sharp; or the new Intelligent HDR, which greatly improves the lighting and colors of the images. Video games and whatever you want
Apple wants its devices to be able to compete head-to-head with video game consoles. The Pro Max is even compatible with one of the most interesting technologies that are present in PS5 and Xbox Series X: ray tracing, which significantly improves the title’s graphics.
We have tested the terminal using the Xbox platform for cloud gaming, and the experience has been quite good. Although, obviously, it is not the same as playing in front of the screen of a good television or the latest iPad Pro, which is another very interesting device for entertainment. Furthermore, even though the A17 chip can withstand anything thrown at it, the terminal heats up as the game progresses. Something that is not unusual to happen.
Be that as it may, the new processor is a prodigy, just like the A16, which debuted last year in the iPhone 14 Pro models and which in this generation has found a place in the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. If you are a user who is used to using very heavy ‘apps’ on your mobile for work or leisure, without a doubt, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is one of the most interesting options you will find on the market. The mobile can do everything.
The 15 Pro Max model, like the rest of the family’s terminals, includes USB-C charging, so you can forget about the classic Lightning cable that has accompanied the company’s terminals for so many years. Something that is required by the new EU single charger regulations, which will be fully effective from next year.
Good battery
Obviously, the Pro Max comes with its own cable USB-C, which is the one present on all Android and most devices; Now, this is not capable of transferring data as quickly as it should, because it only supports USB 2.0 speeds, not 3.2, which is what this model is capable of moving. If the user wants faster moving videos and so on, he will have to check out. Again after spending at least 1,469 euros, which is what the most basic 15 Pro Max costs in terms of storage (256 GB). For the 1TB one, which is what ABC has been testing, things rise to 1,969.
Regarding the battery, the mobile easily lasts the entire day with a lot of use. It can even last with battery until the afternoon of the next day after reaching 100% charge. In principle, more than enough. Although in order not to be in trouble, and to prevent the battery from suffering more than necessary, it is best to connect it for a while every night.

The iPhone 15 Pro Max is a great mobile. Just like their little brothers within the family and the iPhone 14 and iPhone 13. They are all great phones capable of meeting the demands of users. With this clear, who is the 15 Pro Max for? The easy answer is that for whoever wants it, because, in the end, everyone has complete freedom to do what they want with their money, since what they have is hard to earn. Beyond this, it can be an ideal terminal for users who use it as a work tool (especially if it is related to video or photography) or as an entertainment machine capable of playing the most ambitious video games with ease.
For everyone elseFor those who just want a good Apple phone with a great camera, betting on a more basic iPhone 15, or even an iPhone 14, 13 or even 12, probably makes a little more sense. All of these mobile phones are still fully valid and can currently be found at cheaper prices. The user can even go to the reconditioned market and save a few more euros. Because, although the new features that the 15 Pro Max incorporates are interesting, it is not a great revolution.
