New Delhi: There is no good news for the losing captains of both the matches played on April 21 in the 2024 season of the Indian Premier League. Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Faf du Plessis was fined Rs 12 lakh for violating the IPL code of conduct, while Punjab Kings captain Sam Curran was fined 50 percent of his match fee. However, the reasons were different for both the captains.
Du Plessis was found guilty of a slow overrate in RCB’s one-run defeat to Kolkata Knight Riders. “Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Faf du Plessis has been fined for slow overrate against Kolkata Knight Riders in the 36th match of the Indian Premier League 2024,” the IPL said in a statement. This was RCB’s first offense of the season.

Curran, on the other hand, was fined half his match fee for a level one offense under Section 2.8 of the IPL Code of Conduct in the match against Gujarat Titans.
