Monoplay “Isadora“ Azerbaijan State Academic Musical Theater became a laureate of the XXVIII International Theater Festival “White Tower”which took place in Brest (Belarus)the press service of the theater reported to Day.Az.
The one-man show “Isadora” was staged by the theater’s chief director Javid Imamverdiev based on the play “The Three Lives of Isadora” by the famous Russian playwright Zinovia Sagalova. The image of Isadora was embodied Olga Georgieva.
The performance tells the story of the famous American dancer Isadora Duncan, a brave girl who was able to change the world of choreography at the beginning of the 20th century and give it modernity. The play figuratively shows her relationship with the brilliant Russian poet Sergei Yesenin, the famous theater actor Gordon Craig and other prominent figures who in one way or another came into contact with Isadora’s fate at different stages of her life. The heroine herself is frank in her memories of these individuals.
Duncan achieved that she was called a genius and compared with the founders of new eras and styles. In concert performances she used classical music, illustrating the works with dance and achieving a great emotional impact on the viewer. The performance was accompanied by works of world classics. At the same time, throughout the artist’s entire confession, it is impossible not to wonder why such a talented and beautiful woman was unhappy?
