Ischgl and its new image

by time news

Whe hears “Ischgl” and “Poolbar” and immediately throws on the cinema in his head. And is speechless when he slides out into the outdoor pool of the new thermal baths. No swinging music anywhere. Nobody jumps, nobody bawls. Instead, muted lounge beats clack through the clouds of steam, couples chat on bubble loungers. And of course take pictures. “The drinks can’t be colorful enough,” says Evelyne Walch, spokeswoman for the spa. Already, a few weeks after opening, the pool bar is Ischgl’s new Insta star. “I can’t get any cheaper advertising,” says Walch.

The notorious party ski resort and Corona super spreader could use pretty pictures and good news right now. However, these are not cheap: the new bathing temple cost a good 75 million euros, the largest single investment in the history of the Silvretta cable car.
