Jaffa Sound Arts Studios
This amazing studio in Jaffa, which is located in a historic building between hundreds of years and walking distance from the summit garden in front of the sea, has become in recent years the home of Lucille Crew, and of my productions in general. Whether it’s work on the new Lucille Crew album, recordings with Jimbo G and Shannon Street or just non-binding creative meetings – sessions in the studio with a boat break in the summit garden facing the sea, or if we were really diligent and the weather permits in the Jaffa pool The hotel next door, are the kind of things that make me forget and also enjoy the fact that I’m in Israel, at the same time.

Pizza night
Full disclosure: the best pizza in town, with the best Caesar salad in town and the chef with the golden hands (Ran Belfer), also belongs to Red Apple, a dear friend I traveled with in Mexico many years ago. The connection paid off, as sometimes happens, and what better reason to reconnect with an old friend than knowing that he is opening a restaurant and has direct access to pizza baked in heaven. Pizza Lila, since its opening in 2018, has become one of my favorite places. If it’s to sit down for a lunch meeting and nibble on some fun specials accompanied by a Negroni, or if it’s to come hungry and full of purpose and order the entire menu. Ran and Arad put emphasis on every detail. From the culinary to the atmosphere, the music and the service. The menu already includes many more dreamy options and every new special is as exciting as a new episode of the Dragon House. Which makes it one of the best culinary locations this city has to offer and one of my favorite pastimes in it.

Bushwick
If I leave aside for a moment the need not to show off too much, I like to sit in places where the very act of sitting or the menu inspires, or at least those that throw me to another geographical place, and Bushwick is a very inspiring place. And as a bonus, as the number one fan of the New York Regional Council, the Bushwick is simply a portal to Brooklyn in the middle of Tel Aviv. Careful design, decadent brunches, precise cocktails (which during the Corona period were also ordered at Walt for Lucille Crew’s secret jams) and a very addictive menu that includes corn ribs with crab bisque and a caramel dessert from the legends.

Walt (My House)
As a man who loves his home very much and does not know how to postpone gratification, if there is something that makes me appreciate Tel Aviv when I am not there, it is the greatest Finnish invention since the game “Angry Birds”. (I checked, both are from Finland). This app – which allows me to order wine for sitting in the park, an iPhone charger for the return trip and most importantly, to continue watching Modern Family on the sofa, while the best of the city’s flavors come to my doorstep – is one of the pillars of this city for me, and a charm reserved for places like Hogwarts.

P.O.C
During the epidemic that I can’t name, I rediscovered the body’s need for sunlight and embarked on a search for the perfect location in the city for photosynthesis. Although it has been recommended here in the past, but this small cafe in Florentine – most of the charm of which is actually the sunny plaza outside and also happens to serve the only tuna salad sandwich I’m willing to eat in this world – has been my favorite place for the past two years, to start the day with Sun shower and cold coffee. The combination of the options of quiet corners to dive into emails and the high potential of running into colleagues who continued to work with you, resulted in the fact that any work that can be done from the phone I will do from this extension until the weather or the schedule decides me.
