Ishaq Dar calls for an immediate unconditional ceasefire in Gaza

(Web Desk) Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has called on OIC member countries to immediately ensure an unconditional ceasefire in Gaza.

Addressing the OIC summit in Gambia, Ishaq Dar expressed deep concern over the ongoing Israeli attacks in Gaza.

Reiterating his support for the independent Palestinian state and its full membership in the United Nations, he said that the OIC countries should work together for a cease-fire in Gaza and uninterrupted humanitarian aid.

The foreign minister said that the people, especially the Muslim Ummah, are facing major challenges. The OIC should give a united and vigorous response to the challenges. Going forward, we need to realize our goals for the liberation of Palestine.

The foreign minister said that India is committing atrocities on innocent Kashmiris in Occupied Kashmir, OIC should implement the action plan related to Jammu and Kashmir, condemned Islamophobia and discrimination against Muslims.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that the appointment of a special envoy on Islamophobia by the OIC is welcome, the anti-Pakistan statements of Indian leaders are a threat to regional stability, and Pakistan is facing foreign-sponsored terrorism.

Ishaq Dar further said that OIC can play an important role in global economic development, OIC countries should work together to deal with challenges like climate change.
