Sheikh Hasina Interbank Football Tournament-2024 Champion Islami Bank Bangladesh Plc.
Islami Bank players celebrated the title after defeating Standard Bank PLC 2-0 in the final held at the capital’s Army Stadium on Saturday (July 13).
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina handed over the trophy to the winning team at the closing ceremony of the tournament. At this time Islami Bank Managing Director Muhammad Munirul Mawla, Deputy Managing Director received the trophy from the hands of the Prime Minister. Akiz Uddin and Kazi Md. Rezaul Karim is the captain of the team.
Chairman of Bangladesh Association of Banks (BAB) presided over the event. Nazrul Islam Majumder. Prime Minister’s Private Industry and Investment Adviser Salman F Rahman, Youth and Sports Minister Nazmul Hasan, Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman, Bangladesh Bank Governor Abdur Rauf Talukdar and Tournament Organizing Committee President AKM Nurul Fazal Bulbul were present.
BAB organized this tournament for the second time with bank officials. 31 private banks of the country participated in this year’s tournament. Bangladesh Army’s Army Sports Control Board has given full support to the tournament. Senior executives and officers of various banks were present at the closing ceremony.
