The Islamic Jihad terrorist organization lost two of its top commanders in the Gaza Strip in the last 36 hours. Tonight (Sunday), the organization confirmed that the IDF killed the commander of its southern brigade, Khaled Manoser, along with seven other terrorists.

As you may recall, the IDF launched Operation Dawn by killing Taysir al-Jabari, the commander of the northern division of the Islamic Jihad who replaced Baha Abu al-Atta, who was also killed in 2019.

In the meantime, in the middle of the night, several alarms were heard in the Gaza Strip, but in the last hours there was a tense silence.

Arab affairs commentator Avi Issacharoff explained the significance of the elimination of the two officials: “Two figures in the Islamic Jihad in Gaza were the main pushers for the escalation, Taysir al-Jabari, the commander of the northern sector of the military branch, and another official in the Gaza Strip. The arrest of Bassam Saadi in Jenin was an excuse only or an opportunity for them to brand Jihad as a resistance organization that reacts to an incident in the West Bank. Their line was backed by senior Jihad officials abroad.

“Tonight, the second senior Rafah, Khaled Mansour, the commander of the southern sector of the Islamic Jihad, was killed. The organization actually lost its two most senior commanders who were behind the jihad’s attempt to lead to a major escalation. We will recall that at the beginning of the operation, Taysir Al-Jabari, the commander of the northern sector, was killed.”
