Islamists: 18 threats were deported in 2021 – domestic politics

by time news

Berlin – The authorities trust them to commit serious acts of violence up to and including terrorist attacks.

From January to mid-December this year, a total of 18 Islamist threats were deported from Germany.

Five threats were brought to Russia, four to Turkey and two to Bosnia-Herzegovina. That emerges from the answer of the federal government to a written question of the Bundestag member Martin Hess (AfD).

There were also five so-called relevant people. The group of “relevant people” includes those who act in the scene as “leaders”, “actors” or as logisticians and supporters.

Deported one dangerous person each to Algeria, Kuwait, Pakistan, Somalia, Tajikistan, Iraq and Iran. The deportations were not only made more difficult by travel restrictions due to the corona pandemic. There have been no returns to Afghanistan since the Taliban came to power. For years, no dangerous Islamists have been returned to the crisis area in Syria.

In 2019, a total of 32 dangerous and relevant people were deported.

As can be seen from an earlier answer by the Federal Government, most of the people whom the Office for the Protection of the Constitution currently classifies as Islamist-terrorist personal potential are German citizens (940). The second largest group (280 people) are Syrians, followed by Turkish citizens (120 people), people from Russia (90 people) and Iraqis (60 people).
