The first case of monkey measles was confirmed in India on July 14. A 35-year-old man who came from the United Arab Emirates to Wayanad, Kerala was confirmed to be infected with monkey measles.

The man was admitted to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital and later recovered. Apart from him, 4 more people have been confirmed to have monkey measles in Kerala. Due to this, the number of confirmed cases of monkey measles in Kerala has increased to 5 so far.

Similarly, while two people have been confirmed to be infected with monkey measles in the capital Delhi, today a Nigerian living in Delhi has been confirmed to be infected with monkey measles. According to this, the number of confirmed cases of monkey measles in the country has increased to 8.

In this situation, the Delhi government is taking steps to treat the monkey measles in Delhi. Accordingly, the Delhi government has ordered to set up 10 each in 3 private hospitals in Delhi for the treatment of monkey measles. In this, it has been said that 5 rooms should be reserved for people with monkey measles symptoms and 5 rooms for people with confirmed monkey measles.
