Israeli aircraft and artillery continue to bomb the Gaza Strip for the 278th day, killing and wounding tens of thousands of Palestinians.
According to the latest official statistics, more than 38,243 Palestinians were killed, most of them women and children, and 88,033 others were injured, in an incomplete toll, as thousands of victims are still under the rubble and on the streets, and ambulance and rescue crews cannot reach them.
In addition, all areas of the Gaza Strip are suffering from a major water and food crisis, as a result of the Israeli army’s destruction of infrastructure, water desalination lines and stations, and the cutting off of water, food, medicine, electricity and fuel supplies to the Strip’s population of about 2.3 million Palestinians, amid warnings from the United Nations of the repercussions of the hunger crisis that the people of Gaza are struggling with.
In this context, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that “the discovery of mass graves in the city of Khan Yunis in the Gaza Strip, and the targeting of 4 schools in the past four days, are tangible evidence that Israel aims to completely eliminate the Palestinian people.”
According to the Turkish Anadolu Agency, the Turkish Foreign Ministry condemned, in a statement, “Israel’s killing of dozens of innocent civilians in a school where Palestinians had taken refuge in the city of Khan Yunis in Gaza,” stressing that these attacks “also show that the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu aims to undermine the ceasefire negotiations.”
The statement stressed that “Israeli officials will be held accountable before the law for these actions that ignore all human values and international law.”
