/ The Israeli army announced on Saturday that it had targeted a senior Hamas official in a raid in southern Lebanon, while media outlets close to the Lebanese Hezbollah reported that the Palestinian official had survived the assassination.

Reports from Lebanon indicated that an Israeli drone strike targeted a car in a square in the town of Jadra, north of Sidon, in southern Lebanon.

The Israeli Army Radio reported that “the target of the exceptional attack in Sidon is a senior Hamas official in Lebanon.”

For its part, Al-Mayadeen channel, which is close to Hezbollah, said that “a Palestinian figure was targeted by the Israeli raid in Jadra, north of Sidon in Lebanon, but he survived the operation.”

She pointed out that “the Israeli raid resulted in two deaths and injuries,” indicating that “intensive Israeli aircraft flights preceded the operation north of Sidon.”
