Israel breaks the ceasefire and redoubles its genocidal offensive

The ceasefire agreed between Israel and Hamas, mediated by Qatar, Egypt and the United States, has ended. The Zionist State resumed, with greater force than before, the indiscriminate bombings in Gaza, whose health authorities report that at least 200 people died on Friday and another 600 were injured.

More than 400 airstrikes, from north to south, punished the inhabitants of the Strip, the largest open-air prison in the world. The Palestinian Crescent denounces that the Zionists prohibited the entry of humanitarian aid through the Rafah crossing “until further notice.”

Netanyahu declared that negotiations are at a “stalemate” and withdrew his negotiators from Qatar. He further reaffirmed his “commitment” to three goals: “releasing the hostages, eliminating Hamas, and ensuring that Gaza never again poses a threat to the residents of Israel.” However, the sensitive issue of Israeli prisoners held by Hamas and other Palestinian militias remains a factor in the internal crisis. The families accuse the government of indifference and negligence. In fact, the intense Zionist bombings cost the lives of many Israelis detained in Gaza.

For its part, Hamas declared: “What they did not achieve before the truce they will not achieve after it.” Fifty projectiles were launched from Gaza towards central and southern Israel, a fact that shows that Hamas maintains a certain military capacity. This issue also generated controversy within Israel. The internal crisis, on the other hand, was fueled by the New York Times report that revealed that the Israeli authorities and intelligence services knew of the plans for a large-scale attack from Gaza more than a year ago. However, those reports were dismissed. It is no exaggeration to say that Netanyahu and his Nazi-filled cabinet are betting his entire political destiny on the offensive against the Palestinians.

The truce allowed the exchange of 105 Israelis in the hands of Hamas for 240 women and minors imprisoned in Israeli prisons. In addition, the agreement included the entry of 200 trucks of humanitarian aid per day, including fuel, an aspect that, according to Hamas, was not fully fulfilled.

The United States evidently placed the blame for the end of the truce on Hamas. However, it is possible to notice the crisis in the statements of Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, who warned, with a certain tone of reprimand, that it is “essential that Israel act in accordance with international humanitarian laws and the laws of war” and He added that “the “massive loss of civilian lives” and the “displacement of scale” that occurred in the north “cannot be repeated” in the south. The Biden government, pressured by domestic criticism that even reaches sectors of the Democratic Party, is trying to incorporate the “humanitarian” element in his statements, without this meaning any real obstacle to Israel’s genocidal offensive.

As of November 24, more than 15,000 people, including more than 6,150 children and nearly 4,000 women, had died in Gaza. Almost half of the Strip’s 2.3 million inhabitants were forced to leave their homes and flee south.

The ceasefire, forcibly accepted by Israel, was a fleeting relief for the Palestinians. As we warned, the Israeli offensive was resumed with redoubled intensity. The only alternative for the Palestinian people, in unity with the other Arab peoples, is the political-military defeat of the Zionist State. As long as this Nazi State exists, there will be no peace in Palestine or in the region. The Zionist government seeks direct control of Gaza, as part of a plan to exterminate Palestinians, branded as “human animals.”

Ethnic cleansing, closer to being a “final solution”, will continue. For this reason, it is essential not to let up in the campaign and mobilizations against the genocide in Gaza. We must propose the departure of a single, secular, democratic and non-racist Palestine, a flag that, in turn, presupposes the destruction, the complete dismantling, of the Zionist State of Israel.
